Professional Experience

Somerville Comics Collaborative, Somerville, MA
Co-founder and Co-director, August 1999-present

Co-founder of an organization dedicated to bringing Somerville residents together to tell stories of the city in comic form. The Collaborative's first book, a 96-page graphic novel telling the story of the 1834 burning of the Ursuline comic in Somerville written by twelve Somerville teenagers was published in 2000. Collaborative comics have also been created in association with various organizations including the Somerville Community Youth Program, the Somerville Arts Council, the Somerville Police Department, Clarendon Hill Towers and the Mystic Public Housing Development.

Production Supervisor, October 1997-present

Directly involved in all aspects of a small comic-book publishing company, including marketing, publicity, book editing, design.

Somerville Comix Festival
Co-Director, July-October 2001

Organized a week-long, city-wide comic art festival including art exhibits at several venues throughout the cities featuring local and national artists, workshops, parties, musical performances, lectures, and an animation show.

Co-organized and exhibited at a show featuring both local and national cartoonists work.
